I wish I could give you a million likes! This was the most informative and concise video of don’t dos about Italy. I subscribed and shared with my family. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Thank you Alex, really appreciate it 😊😎
Friends who come to visit Italy, you have to enjoy my country, therefore, take the cappuccino when you prefer ^^, at most the waiter will widen his eyes a little, but the important thing is that you relax. What the video suggests about overpriced restaurants is true, so it is better to look in secondary streets and choose those frequented by Italian workers; during car trips, a good sign is a restaurant with a parking lot full of trucks ^^ truck drivers love to eat well and a good quality – price ratio; you are welcome and have fun in Italy .
thank you for the video, and I just want to say that I will have coffee whenever I want and I’m not trying to be an Italian or act like an Italian. And if anyone is offended at me drinking coffee then boy do they have a rough life ahead of them. I would not expect them to act like an American if they were in America, I would let them do whatever they want and eat whatever they want to, as long as it’s not causing harm of course 🙂
My partner and I went to Italy in 2012. We went for 3 weeks, and rented an apartment in Lucca. We felt it was the best way to experience life in Italy. Unfortunately I didn’t learn Italian, I used notes to ask questions, but then had no hope of understanding the reply 😂. I found that it was the women who mostly spoke English. We enjoyed the Italian breakfast experience of coffee, a danish, and panini. We did travel by hire car, to visit my partners grandfathers village, and that was an adventure. Our time there, in our 700 year old apartment was fantastic, we loved every minute. The people were friendly, and the food was fantastic. We had such a wonderful experience that we felt we could have stayed there forever.
Oh cool. I live in lucca
Since I’m not a big fan of water, I skipped Venice and, instead, went to Pompeii. It didn’t disappoint. Also, if any readers plan to visit Italy in the future, consider adding Assisi to your itinerary … a small, manageable, clean and adorable town.
As an Italian (from Milan) I advise foreigners to visit Northern Italy and its mountains … No European country has as much variety of Alpine landscapes as Italy which, moreover, it shares the Alps on its borders with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia … So why visit 4 countries when it is enough to visit just ONE? 😉
As Italian I can confirm that I saw “Spaghetti e polpette” (Spaghetti with meatballs) only in cartoons and never in a restaurant 😂
@Lena Se I’ve eaten Spaghetti and Ragù (a meat sausage with tomato, which can look like smashed Polpette), but I’ve NEVER eaten Spaghetti and Polpette here in Italy.
then you don t know what they eat in the other regions. spaghetti and polpette are cooked in MANY places for example in Teramo ( Abbruzzo). It s a common dish in many places probably not in your region though.
My tip is to not order an espresso every time you need to use a toilet, you’ll end up having a cardiac arrest!! Order “un espresso decaffinato” or alternate with something like water or a soft drink!! Some towns and cities are beginning to install automated toilet cubicles but the “full bladder problem” remains a major difficulty, for the residents too.
I’d like to see a video on visiting Italy for the mobility impaired, addressing renting and parking vehicles, getting around for seniors and others who shudder at the idea of walking down a hill because of the return trip, bottom floor (floor zero) accommodations, and other obstacles that seniors or mobility impaired face.
we don’t do good in that department. sorry
Don’t think you can walk around Venice in beachwear, contrary to what some tourists believe, Venice is not a theme park. Don’t attempt to dive off bridges in Venice or go for a swim in the canals, you will be HEAVILY FINED and may spend a night in jail.
And also you can have a bad illness ahahahahaa
Not to mention the canals in Venice are, at the same time, the main roads of the city, and it’s sewer network
Well, there’s something right about it, picturing the Italian lifestyle as smoother than in other countries across Europe, but after living in Italy for more than 15 yrs, I can guarantee those people also knows how to party. There are many fun locations with some of the most skilled DJs around in the world, not to mention the fancy places if you want to look for special clubs. You just have to know where they are, that’s all. And the food around the whole country is top-notch, no matter if you are looking for a good cheap meal or a very special state of the art. Have fun folks! 😉
Yeah party is ready but it s true that during the summer time we have many local party “sagre” and it is better then discoteque or othet because you have fine food and drink… se posso cone mai non sei più dei nostri? Ex parà giusto e solo 15 anni su suolo natio?
@Deep_Blue Ah, ma lei è italiano. Posso chiederle che grado ha e dove è stato in missione?
@diego pettini da ex parà ormai all’estero da molti anni, ricordo volentieri i bei tempi. 😉
Why the Folgore coat of arms?
I have been to Italy more times than I can count. Everything in this video is absolutely correct.
I’m going nxt week so excited ..any other advice you can give
3:35 bottom text: it’s POLPETTE, not “polpetti” 🙂 Apart from this little mistake, as an Italian I can affirm that this video is pretty much accurate! To be honest it’s not that true that you should not expect “extreme” nightlife here, it simply depends on where are you going in terms of cities (there are some which are more inclined to nightlife as compared to others, of course) and places within that city (pubs, discos, clubs usually target different types of customers). Enjoy your stay in our wonderful Country, have fun and remember to get home at the end of your vacation a free souvenir you really can’t miss: a piece of Italy in your heart for the rest of your life! 🇮🇹
No night life in Italy? Ahahaha This is absolutely wrong. There are thousands different places all around the country much better and more beautiful than Ibiza
@Randetoz want to see if these guys know what they’re talking about 😂
@Randetoz i am glad they are! they can confirm or deny what this guy is saying.
@Randetoz why? Is it forbidden?
Wait why are Italians watching and commenting on this video?
Rispetto ad altre parti del mondo e d’Europa l’Italia è molto indietro riguardo festival e club
I love Italy too.
I used to live in 6 different countries and I can definitely say they are the best .
Food, culture, style, history, design, sightseeing, beaches, friendliness, welcoming, warm and much much much more.
Never seat yourself at a restaurant. The couple behind us tried that and got thrown out, while we were graciously seated. Never touch the produce at a food stall; ask first. Always acknowledge the staff in a shop.
I went to Italia in high school and have been dying to get back since. It’s gorgeous and as a Catholic who loves rustic architecture, Roman History, art, Italian food, and who is almost 50% Italian I felt right at home.
you can order cappuccino whenever you like dont worry ahah, its just unusual but not a big deal
Don’t get lost in Italy. Not on foot at the wrong time of day. Food becomes hard to find and cappuccinos are the last thing to think about. Maybe a burger for $10 if you’re lucky. All you will see is buildings and roads and that’s it.
I’m from Milan. Well, feel free to order a cappuccino when you want, as I and many other Italians do.
@caso*mai bhe, perchè dovrebbero dire di no alla richiesta di un cliente?
No u cant cuz im italian lmfao
he said that. he said they realize now people want it in the afternoon so they’ll make it…. he said that.
Abruzzo Baby!
Alejandro Sicily is a whole region not a city 🙂
Lilith _ I’m here right now it’s okay
Biggest problem is that Florence Venice and Rome are really close to each other, and cities like Sicilia are too far away to cover in a few days.
@Lilith _ most of Sicily is beautiful!
You will fall in love after your visit because every villages, towns and cities have more than enough to offer. From architecture, food, designers wears environmental organisation and love for hospitality. You will really have overdosed of good time. Quality shopping is guaranteed.
L Italia waiting for you. We love tourist.
You’re welcome Charmaine!
me to im going in nov 2021 for 3 days b4 a cruise. so cant wait
You’ll love it. It’s beautiful and the architecture and environment is almost like reading a book and seeing it come to life. The people, the food, the scenery, I mean everything is amazing. I’m taking my mom next month. I hope you enjoy your time there.
